About the project
An immersive installation that transforms five scientific principles into one connected, accessible story.
Teylers Museum wanted to bring the principles behind scientific thinking to life for a broad audience, from young visitors to adults. Rather than presenting five separate lessons, the challenge was to make the process of science understandable through experience: how observation, questions, testing and connections build knowledge over time. In collaboration with NorthernLight we created a living system of light, projection, sound and movement. A constellation of illuminated spheres represents science as a living process, while a large diagonal screen visualises how these elements connect and evolve. The scientific system becomes something visitors can follow and experience, rather than simply read about.

A living system
Individually they are fragments. Together, a collective intelligence.
At the heart of the installation is a representation of scientific thinking: a constellation of illuminated spheres, a system that is alive. The spheres stand for individual points of observation: questions, ideas, experiments and pieces of knowledge.
The installation is never completely still. It breathes, responds and evolves. Signals travel through the network, patterns emerge and connections form. What begins as seemingly independent observations gradually becomes a system of understanding. Science becomes visible as a living process.
Impact
Learning through experiencing, rather than receiving information.
The installation turns scientific principles into a shared, sensory experience. By letting visitors see knowledge forming and connections unfolding around them, Zeker Weten? offers a more intuitive way to understand how science works.
